What a Hindi WordPress Chatbot Actually Needs to Do
Indian website visitors rarely stick to one language. The same person may type a full English sentence, switch to Hinglish for the next question, and paste a product name in Devanagari. A useful Hindi chatbot for WordPress has to understand all of that and answer from your business information, not from generic internet content.
Bitsa AI handles this with one chatbot. The WordPress plugin is a lightweight connector; the AI responses, language understanding, knowledge-base training and lead management run on Bitsa AI's cloud. You install the plugin, connect your account, train the bot on your pages and documents, and it takes care of language detection on every message. For the broader picture of Hindi chat on any channel, see the Hindi AI chatbot page.
Hindi vs Hinglish vs English Visitors
Most Indian business sites get all three. Here is how each one typically types, and what the chatbot does with it.
Hindi (Devanagari)
Visitor: "क्या आप घर पर डिलीवरी करते हैं?"
Bot: "जी हाँ, हम होम डिलीवरी करते हैं। अपना पिनकोड बताइए, मैं डिलीवरी का समय बता देता हूँ।" Common with older customers and visitors using Hindi phone keyboards or voice typing.
Hinglish (Hindi in Latin script)
Visitor: "bhai ye kurti XL mein milegi? COD hai kya?"
Bot: "Haan, XL size available hai aur COD option bhi hai. Kya main ise aapke cart mein add kar doon?" This is how most Indians type on WhatsApp, so it is often the biggest group.
English
Visitor: "What are your clinic timings on Sunday?"
Bot: "On Sundays we are open 10 am to 1 pm. Would you like me to note your name and number for an appointment?" Typical for corporate buyers, NRIs and visitors from outside the Hindi belt.
The bot replies in whatever language the visitor uses, and if the visitor switches mid-conversation, the reply follows. The examples above show the style; actual answers come from your own knowledge base.

Your Site Is in English, Your Visitors Ask in Hindi
This is the most common situation for Indian businesses: the website, price list and policies are written in English, but a large share of customers ask in Hindi or Hinglish. You do not need to translate the whole site. The chatbot understands the question in the visitor's language and answers from your English content in that language. What helps is writing the knowledge base so the facts are easy to find:
- State facts plainly. "Delivery: 3-5 working days within the city, COD available" is easier to answer from in any language than a marketing paragraph.
- Add the words customers actually use. If people say "kurti", "saree fall", "EMI", "fees" or "admission form", include those terms in your FAQ entries next to your formal product or service names.
- Keep numbers and names explicit. Prices in ₹, timings, addresses and brand names should be written out so the bot can repeat them correctly in a Hindi reply.
- Add a short Hindi FAQ document if wording matters. For regulated or sensitive topics (fees, warranty terms, medical instructions), upload a reviewed Hindi or Hinglish FAQ so the bot has approved phrasing to draw on.
- Update one source. When a price or policy changes, update the knowledge base once; the bot will use the new fact in every language.
More on structuring content for the bot is in the WordPress knowledge base chatbot guide. If you also serve visitors abroad, the multilingual chatbot for global websites page covers the same detection across other languages.
How to Test Your Hindi Chatbot Before Launch
Spend 20 minutes acting as your own customer. Ask each of these and check the answer against your documents:
- Same question, three ways: "What is the price of the basic plan?", "basic plan ka price kya hai?", "बेसिक प्लान की कीमत क्या है?" The facts should match in all three replies.
- Mid-chat switch: start in English, then ask a follow-up in Hinglish. The reply should switch with you and keep the context.
- Spelling variations: Hinglish has no fixed spelling. Try "kitne ka hai", "kitne ka h", "kitna price".
- Lead capture in Hindi: say "mujhe callback chahiye" and confirm the name, phone and requirement show up in the Bitsa AI dashboard.
- Something you do not offer: ask about a product or service missing from your content and check that the bot does not make one up. If it needs a better answer, add that fact to the knowledge base.

Yes. The free Bitsa AI Chatbot plugin on WordPress.org connects your site to a Bitsa AI chatbot that supports 50+ languages, including Hindi, Hinglish and English. It detects the language of each visitor message and replies in that language, using the knowledge base you train it on: your website pages, FAQs, documents and product catalogues.
No. You can train the chatbot on your existing English pages and documents, and it can answer Hindi and Hinglish questions from that content in the visitor's language. Write facts plainly, include the everyday words customers use for your products, and add a reviewed Hindi FAQ document only for topics where exact wording matters. Always test the replies in each language before launch.
Yes. Hinglish, such as "price kya hai?" or "COD milega kya?", is one of the supported languages, alongside Hindi in Devanagari and English. The chatbot understands natural language, context and intent rather than matching fixed keywords, so spelling variations and mixed sentences are handled. Because the language is detected from what the visitor types, the reply follows if they switch languages mid-conversation.

Why Use Bitsa AI for a Hindi WordPress Chatbot
One bot, every language
No separate Hindi and English bots to maintain. Language detection runs on every message across 50+ languages.
Answers from your content
Replies come from your approved knowledge base, so a Hindi answer about your prices or policies uses the same facts as the English one.
Leads in any language
The bot collects name, phone, email and requirements inside the chat, whatever language the visitor uses, and sends the lead to your Bitsa AI dashboard.
Light on your site
A single loader of about 16 KB gzipped, loaded async in the footer. The chat window loads after the page or when the visitor opens chat, so rendering is not blocked.
Speak Your Customers' Language Without Rebuilding Your Site
A WordPress chatbot in Hindi does not mean a second website or a separate bot. Install the free plugin, train one chatbot on your existing content, write facts plainly, and test the same questions in Hindi, Hinglish and English. Plans start at ₹299/month after the free trial; see chatbot pricing in India for details.
